Horn Book (The Horn Book Guide, Fall 2007)
Biscuit the puppy and his little-girl owner visit a farm where they help feed the animals. A piglet keeps escaping from its pen to follow Biscuit, and the girl must take him back. The simple, repetitive text and clean illustrations make this book accessible to new readers, but there is little plot. (My First I Can Read Book series). Category: Easy Readers. 2007, HarperCollins, 32pp, 15.99, 16.89. Ages 5 to 9. Rating: 4: Recommended, with minor flaws.

This book is about a dog named Biscuit who spends a day on the farm. Although there is much to do, everyone still has time to help and to make a new friend. This book is a cute and appropriate story for a pre-Kindergarten classroom. The illustrations are soft and detailed. (I Can Read!). Fiction. Grades PreK-K. 2007, HarperCollins, 28p., $15.99. Ages 3 to 6.
